Tuberculosis

Summary

The NICE tuberculosis clinical guideline covers:

• diagnosing and treating active and latent TB in adults and children
• preventing the spread of TB, for example by offering tests to people at high risk, and by vaccination.

The guideline does not explain TB or its treatments in detail.

The printed version of the quick reference guide has an error on page 21. BCG vaccination for a neonate should be offered if there is a family history of TB in the past 5 years (and not 6 years, as specified in the printed quick reference guide). The version on the website has been corrected.
